Okay, if you purchase any shorts this season, these are THE ONES. The linen material is perfect for the Texas summer heat. I purchased these in both Flint and Black and they have been on repeat for me every week for the last month because of how soft and comfy they are. They have the cutest back pocket detail too. These shorts also pair well with Rowan's muscle tanks!

While the Joan is super comfy and slouchy and sort of high-waisted (or can be if you pull them up) and longer if you want them to be (by pulling them down lower), the Grayson is a bit spiffier looking, or sportier. Just as comfy (I wear a size L in these, a size M in Joan: I like my things comfy and on the looser side rather than more fitted, and I'd read in reviews that the Grayson doesn't run as large as the Joan short), very cool in hot weather due to the linen, but some really nice details in the pleats and darts and leg notch, the stitching. The inseam is a bit shorter than the Joan. I could probably wear a size M in these but think the waist might feel a bit snug since it's not elastic.

I get so many compliments on these shorts. The elastic makes them always fit perfectly on my waist without ever feeling too tight, and they’re the perfect length and looseness to feel both chic and comfortable. I usually wear a 26 in denim, and I could have gotten away with an XS or S, but slightly preferred the fit of the small. I can wear them a few times before their shape starts to look a little tired, and I haven’t had any issues with shrinkage. I wash them on gentle cycle and hang dry.

I really love these linen shorts. I have them in two colors and I'm hopefully awaiting for the black to return in the fall. They are the perfect length to be dressed up with a jacket or vest, or dressed down with sneakers and a t-shirt. The detailed stitching on the back pockets and double button at the waist give it an elevated look. The XS is perfect for my 5'2" frame.
