The Estelle Cap-Sleeve Raglan Heritage Dress is a California cool and easy short dress inspired by the beloved Estelle Cap-Sleeve Raglan Terry Sweatshirt. The dress features a classic crewneck, contrast rib at the cap-sleeve Raglan and neckband, on-seam pockets, muscle tank silhouette for attitude and a strong shoulder. The body is made of our heavyweight 100% American cotton Heritage jersey from the men’s 1955 Asher Standard with some stretch in the contrast rib sleeves.
The Estelle has gone through a wash and dye process to break down the fabrics to give it that heritage look and vintage hand-feel. to this process, some variation of color between batches can be expected. The result is a unique garment that continues to soften and add character with time and washing.

I own the Estelle dress in black and faded black and I love them both! You can dress them up with heels or dress them down with flip-flops and sneakers. The only thing that I didn’t like is that the black in extra small is longer than the length that I prefer in the faded black extra small. I tried to look at it positively like it’s a little longer if I’m dressing it up and I can always pull it up just a little bit with my hands in the pockets and it looks super cute… just a little bunched up in the middle! There is a picture attached where I’ve done that. Unfortunately, the faded black got one of those random dark spots on it and I don’t know how that happened when I tried to get it out ‘gently’…. it took the color out and now there’s like a white patch … On my breast haha. I still wear it and try to cover it with my hair… the dress continues to fade, and I did like the original darker color like in the pic. No matter what I wear these dresses alllll of the time! I am 5’2” :)
RRowan25 seconds agoHi Laura. I'm glad to hear you love the Estelle. And very sorry that you got a rubbed off spot on your faded black. The faded black is our Heritage pigment dye process and it's intended to evolve over time, enhancing the highs and lows with a vintage look. Therefore, the dye requires a little more care. Stains should be treated with Dawn detergent or Oxy spray but without any rubbing. Rubbing detergent or even water can distress and pull up the dye. It's a good rule of thumb for all stains, in fact. It's best to leave the pre-treatment to do its work lifting oils and then wash regularly in cold water. Let us know if there's anything we can do. info@forrowan.com.

I bought this dress ~ 10 mo ago to replace a similar "many ocassions" black dress of a similar length and this one looks just as nice but is so much more cozy! The only challenge I've had is while renting I have a semi low quality washing machine and hard water, and it's been a little rough on it (even on delicate/cold), so if you have a similar set up I'd recommend minimal washing or taking it somewhere else. I have an athletic build and my weight fluctuates a bit so I love that it can fit well either loose or snug! I wear it with a wrap/light shawl and "Thigh Society" shorts and that reduces any worries about accidental "exposure" since it does sit nicely but a little high if you have a curvy booty :)

I’ve only had this dress for a couple of weeks but already wore it twice - once for Mother’s Day and once for a concert. I love that you can dress it up or down. Definitely contemplating buying more colors in the same dress!
